4. If you do end up with a lot of extras, think about planning a back-to-school or autumn event with a similar theme. Then get creative and use your left over decorations and crafts in a slightly different way. Even if there is just enough for one special, small event – like a get-to-know-you party for new kindergartners, you will be using the supplies and providing another fellowship and growth opportunity to your congregation.

 

5. Not up for planning yet another event? Guildcraft Facebook fan Jamie Fox gave an excellent suggestion. “In our area we just pass on decorations & left-over supplies to the church who is having VBS next within our association. It helps those smaller churches who can’t afford to buy some of the decorations or find they didn’t get enough of something.”

    I find it easier to recruit parents of the children you know will be attending, as some would rather be on hand with their kids than just dropping them off.
