Don’t forget to say thank you to all of your volunteers!
Just cut out and attach to a bag of popcorn, pretzels or candy. Think about making a basket of assorted wrapped snacks with one of these thank you tags attached. Put the basket out on the last day of VBS so volunteers can pick their favorite snack.

Now that we have all finished a fabulous Vacation Bible School week full of motivated, excited children – how do we keep them coming to church? This is a dilemma many churches face today. Please don’t let the exhaustion of VBS and the heat of the summer keep you from your goals – reaching out to the children in your neighborhood and sharing God’s love with them.
If you haven’t completed your week of VBS, you still have time to engage a captive audience!
On the last day of VBS, be sure to send home pictures of the week with your participants. Parents are thrilled to see that their child was actually engaged in great learning during the week.
Better yet, invite the parents and families for a funfilled time to share God’s message. The children can sing the songs they have learned all week long, act out an important bible story and share a snack that they have made. Plus, parents can see the amazing decorating you spent so much time on leading up to your week.
At this time, be sure to send something out announcing your upcoming Sunday school programs, including information on your themes, start dates, times, location, etc. Don’t forget to share your website address! If one or more of your VBS leaders teaches Sunday school, be sure to incorporate that information. If the adults do not attend your church there is often fear of the unknown. Having a familiar face at Sunday school can be the impetus that will bring them back!
The week following Vacation Bible School, send each child a postcard letting them know how much fun you had with them during the week and reminding them of your “bible buzz words”. This would be a good time to share next year’s VBS theme…keep the momentum going….
Most importantly, invite, invite, invite. A personal invitation is often the key to someone walking into church and Sunday school instead of choosing a different activity on a Sunday morning.
How do you plan on following up after your VBS is over?

Did you have a Fall Festival, Trunk or Treat or other fall event at your church? If so, follow up with your attendees with this postcard! A large, fun event often brings in visitors and friends of church members, and this postcard is a great way to say, “We are glad you came and hope you come back.” It also tells a child a most important message – that God loves them!
There are two versions. The first is a postcard that you can print, write a message and send. If you communicate through e-mail, Facebook or other online methods, there is a graphic that you can use.
