VBS Cupcake Toppers

{ February 17th, 2012 }

Cupcake toppers are one of our most popular Freebie Friday printables. We wanted to give you cupcake toppers for several of the VBS themes for 2012, so you can begin using them now. Did you know that VBS Cupcake Toppers can be used for so much more than cupcakes?

Here are some of our favorite ways to use these VBS Cupcake Toppers:

1. Bag Tags – Toppers can be super cute added to a bag stuffed with goodies. Use the bags to wrap up your volunteers’ thank you gifts, or use them to hand out a snack for pre-VBS publicity.

2. Straw Tags – Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top and bottom of the circle. Then slip a straw through. Add to a drink or a bottle of water for a volunteer treat during VBS, or let kids have one with their drink during snack time.

3. Buttons – Use a button maker, buy our design-your-own buttons, or just add an adhesive pin to the back of the circles to create fun buttons.

4. Puppets – Add a craft stick or toothpick and let kids use them as little puppets!

Make them a little bigger depending on size. Make addition circles for each daily Scripture verse and one for back cover, punch hole in each and stack with brad. Now you have a Scripture book to match theme.

Print on cardstock and add VBS info to back side to use as publicity pieces that the children can hand out to their friends.

I did something like this before. Take enough circles (toppers) and looking at the object on them in the correct position, punch two holes in each side and thread heavy yarn or new shoestrings (long ones) and it will make a belt for each child. they can have the extra string meet in the front and just tie! Easy but they can do it themselves and feel the accomplishment! Kids loved these when I had my VBS make them!

You could make them a little larger and have each child color them and use them as bulletin board decorations or you could print it on cardstock and use them for thank you postcards for attendees of VBS

Memory game for the preschoolers. Sticker incentives for bible verses learned.

Make them into stickers for the students to use as wish. Add VBs dates to them so they can put sticker on calendar or other place to remind them of the dates having VBS.

I think it would be fun to put them on the sticks of lollipops to hand out to the kids. You could give each kid 2 and have them give one to a friend with your VBS info printed on a sticker on the back of the topper.

Thanks to everyone for your creative ideas! Keep them coming. We won’t close the drawing until next Thursday (2/23)!

I’d like some ideas to use with 6th graders; not too baby-ish.

Cover toppers with clear contact paper, cut out with pinking shears and You can also add ribbon on bottom (under the pin) and make a badge to advertise VBS!

Copy them – precolored or not – on card stock and make a hole near the top
with a hole punch. Put a narrow ribbon through the hole and double knot
close to hole with even lengths of ribbon left loose. Names can be written on the back of the tags and then they can be tied to various items such as crafts,
supply bags, or other items given to the students during VBS.

I love the toppers they have a lot of uses. Besides cupcakes we put them on goody bags for special helpers for VBS.
